A FRESH WAY TO BREAK THE ICE · 18+

Single? Got a big one? Hold the cucumber.

Cucumber Date is a cheeky supermarket dating idea for single men with an above average sized penis.

The detail that makes the difference: carry the cucumber in your hand, rather than leaving it in your basket or trolley.

How it works

LESS SWIPING. MORE SHOPPING.

One cucumber. A playful conversation starter.

01 / PICK IT UP

Keep it in your hand

Shop as usual, holding your cucumber in one hand while carrying your basket or pushing your trolley with the other.

02 / KNOW THE CODE

Single and well endowed

That is the campaign’s intended message. A cucumber in a basket is simply shopping; holding one is the playful twist.

03 / SAY HELLO

Ask about the cucumbers

The original suggested opener is: “Could you tell me where the cucumbers are?” If the interest is mutual, let the conversation grow.

Sometimes a cucumber is just a cucumber.

Not everyone knows the code or is taking part. Keep it friendly, respect a lack of interest and let people get on with their shopping.

From pineapples to cucumbers

Big One Dating introduced the idea after Spain’s supermarket pineapple dating craze. Its story records Jonah Falcon taking part in New York on 10 September 2024.
